How does SearchFit stack up against the competition? We think we do pretty well.
Volusion offers a sound ecommerce platform that has been backed by an enormous support team since 1999. The software comes with hosting and set up included in its monthly fee and does not charge any fees based on transactions. It offers a well-structured, fundamental suite of features and includes a large library of free and paid responsive website templates that are versatile and easy to apply. Its offering of basic shopping features such as site search, compare products, product filters and reviews, is easy to use and implement for most store owners. It also offers a unique SEO feature for page naming and meta content rules that can be applied to every page. Unlike many other sites, it does offer some B2B abilities such as member/dealer only website publishing and freight calculations.
Volusion’s feature set is a solid, fundamental offering, however, it lacks when compared to other shopping carts including SearchFit. Starting with Customer Friendly Shopping features such as site search, Volusion offers an advanced search, but does not include advanced learning, intelligent results or auto-complete in the search field. SearchFit’s Power Search offers all of this and more. Product filters and options can be used as search filters allowing your customers to further refine search results.
Power Search search offers reporting features that show store owner what people are searching for and how many results were returned for each search including empty results. Store owners can use this information to tailor their product offering based on what customers are searching for. The site search is extremely efficient; it can search over 200k products and return results in milliseconds. Search results criteria can be weighted and adjusted by store owners to refine search results for their customers.
Volusion does not offer Upsell products which can be a crucial feature to increase order values. SearchFit offer two types of upselling features: Upsells and Promotions. Upsell products are products assigned to a specific product and are shown to customers upon checkout. Promotional products are shown one time to every customer who enters the checkout.
Volusion does not offer the ability for customers to view or repeat previous orders. This is a very helpful tool that SearchFit offers to every client, but it is especially important to clients who thrive on repeat business.
Managing cart operations is another area where Volusion lacks. For store owners who need to run scheduled tasks such as automatic order exports, imports or scheduled product imports or inventory updates, SearchFit offers a variety of methods to run these tasks with some configuration right out of the box. SearchFit’s automation and scheduling features also include multiple automated price comparison site feeds such as Google Shopping, Bing Shopping and Shopzilla and many more. While Volusion does have custom product export templates that can be configured to meet these price comparison sites’ criteria, Volusion does not offer scheduled exports for them.
Another advantage for SearchFit is that it offers multi-store publishing for store owners who need to publish multiple websites and want to manage all of them from a single shopping cart admin panel. Store owners can publish to multiple domain names, sell different products, and use different website templates on each site. Each store can also sell in different currencies or show different prices and product descriptions to target different audiences.
